Meet our teachers at Sursum Corda!
Rev. Jeff Hendrix, Headmaster
Rev. Hendrix teaches Latin and Catechesis at Sursum Corda, in addition to serving as the Headmaster. He has two masters degrees, one from Ball State University in Digital Storytelling, and one from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary in divinity/pastoral studies. He has a passion for working with youth, and has served for a number of years on the Evangelical Lutheran Synod’s national Board for Youth Outreach. Locally, he is an ambassador for the Oregon Chamber of Commerce. You’ll often see him out riding his bike.
Mrs. Carla Hendrix
Carla Hendrix teaches music at Sursum Corda Classical School. She is a graduate of Martin Luther College with a triple-major in Elementary Education, Secondary Vocal Music, and Secondary Instrumental Music. Since graduation she has taught various grades and subjects in both public and Lutheran schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. Carla is passionate about Classical Lutheran music and loves sharing its heritage and beauty with the next generation of musicians. She is married to Pastor Jeff Hendrix and mother to 5 children. Their family enjoys traveling, reading good books, and laughing at the antics of their backyard chickens.
Mrs. Katie Bischoff
I am a mom of four, two of whom attend Sursum Corda. I have been homeschooling my two oldest for three years now and have discovered a love for teaching. In high school and into my early adult life I also taught many music lessons, and Sunday School classes, so teaching has been something I have done often. I love seeing the children’s eyes light up, and minds work as they learn a new concept and develop new skills.
Mr. Jordan Bischoff
Jordan teaches logic and science, and is in the process of finishing a master’s level program in Staff Ministry.
